Neck Lift
in Little Rock, AR
Sagging and wrinkles in your neck can rob you of youthful definition and make you look older than you are. Dr. Suzanne Yee performs neck lift surgery in Little Rock, AR, to remove excess skin and artfully tighten tissue, restoring taut, rejuvenated contours in the neck and jawline.

What Exactly Is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a very popular cosmetic surgery for folks who want to combat the unwanted effects of aging. It is especially popular for people who are satisfied with how their upper face looks, and only want to correct issues with their neck skin, fat, or jaw area.
Neck lift surgery in Arkansas is a highly sought-after solution for both tightening a loose neck and for removing the dreaded double chin. The “turkey wattle,” as well as vertical neck bands, can appear naturally with age. Dr. Yee can solve these issues by tightening both skin and muscles, and taking care of double chins by performing neck lifts with liposuction in Little Rock.
Types of Transformative Neck Lifts
There are several neck lift methods available. Dr. Yee may use one specific technique or combine aspects from all three techniques, depending on your goals and the amount of lift you need to achieve the look you want.
Liposuction
The most minimally invasive method, this treatment will eliminate excess fat cells through a small tube called a cannula. Dr. Yee proudly uses advanced types of liposuction, such as LipoSelection, which will have less impact on the surrounding tissue.
Cervicoplasty
This plastic surgery method removes sagging and/or excess skin through small incisions near the ears, or just under the chin. It is a popular choice for folks who succeeded in losing major amounts of weight and would like to complete their physical transformation by addressing the surplus of skin left behind.
Platysmaplasty
A banded appearance in the neck results when your muscles lose tone and definition. Using this technique, Dr. Yee will lift and reposition the platysma muscle. By doing so, she can provide long-lasting rejuvenation for your neck.

Are You a Good Neck Lift Candidate?
Neck lift surgery in Arkansas is generally a good option for any adult who enjoys good overall physical health. Dr. Yee’s decades of experience allow her to accurately evaluate potential candidates.
Major factors she will assess include:
1
Skin Elasticity
Dr. Yee will evaluate the elasticity of your skin to determine if it is at a high enough level to reasonably assure that the neck lift will achieve your desired goals.
2
Medical Conditions
Certain conditions can increase the typically rare risks of surgical complications. Additionally, some skin conditions inhibit healing following surgery.
3
Behavioral Habits
Certain habits can harm candidacy for a neck lift, such as smoking. Nicotine inhibits the body’s capability for recovery following neck lift surgery.
None of the above necessarily mean you cannot receive the neck lift you want. The only way to know for sure if you are a quality candidate is at an in-person evaluation with Dr. Yee. If you happen to have certain issues that make a neck lift a poor recommendation, Dr. Yee can discuss other transformative options.

The Neck Lift Procedure
A Simple Surgery for a Natural Look
Neck lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, and typically takes just one to two hours. Here is what to expect on the day of your surgery:
1. Precise Preparation
Dr. Yee will make markings on your neck and lower face to guide her as she creates the incisions. A team of a board-certified anesthesiologist and nurse anesthetist will administer anesthesia for your comfort throughout the surgery. You may only require a local anesthetic combined with a mild sedative. If necessary, we can also provide general anesthesia to keep you completely at ease.
2. Accurate Incision
Dr. Yee will create incisions behind your ears. This placement will result in subtle scars hidden in your hairline. She may also make an incision beneath your chin depending on the extent of treatment needed.
3. Lift & Trim
Dr. Yee will carefully lift the underlying muscular structure beneath the skin of your neck and jaw, which will highlight the natural contours of your neck. She will trim excess tissue and suture the remaining tissues into place. She may also perform liposuction at this time.
4. Finishing Touches
Dr. Yee will close up the incisions with traditional or dissolvable stitches. As she does, she will carefully lift and smooth the skin, avoiding an unnatural, stretched appearance.
Neck Lift Recovery
Once your neck lift is complete, you will rest in our office for a period before a friend or loved one transports you home. Dr. Yee will provide details regarding your recovery period, which includes the following:
At-Home Healing
Limit yourself to minimal activity in the days following surgery. It is especially important to avoid straining the incisions as they heal. Although our treatment is safe with negligible risks, as with any surgery, you could still experience some swelling, bruising, and inflammation. The severity will depend on the type and extent of your neck lift. For most patients, the bruising and other minor annoyances disappear within two weeks. During the initial healing period, medications and compression bandages can help to ease any discomfort. Dr. Yee may also place surgical drains, which will come out after 1–2 days.
Follow Up & Moving On
You must return to visit Dr. Yee within the week. She will make sure that your incisions are healing properly and that there is no risk of infection. She will also let you know when you can return to work and other normal activities. Typically, you can go back to work in a week or two, although you will need extra rest if you have a particularly strenuous job. Depending on your fitness regimen, you can usually resume your normal exercise routine in three to four weeks. Discomfort will fade within a few weeks, and the full results of your neck lift will usually be apparent within a year of your surgery.
