Mommy Makeover
in Little Rock, AR
As exciting and miraculous as pregnancy can be, it still takes an extreme toll on the body. As both a mother and a leading cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Yee understands these changes and uses her surgical expertise to rejuvenate the female body. If you are looking to get back your pre-pregnancy body and confidence, consider a mommy makeover in Little Rock, AR. Dr. Suzanne Yee’s practice proudly serves patients across Little Rock and all of Arkansas seeking natural-looking results.
Why Choose a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is a custom treatment plan that combines various cosmetic procedures to rejuvenate the body. We focus on areas like the breasts and stomach that go through changes during pregnancy and fail to bounce back to their prior condition naturally with diet and exercise. A mommy makeover provides our Little Rock and Central Arkansas patients with an assortment of benefits.
Improved Shape
Plastic surgery is one of the most effective ways to eliminate fat and improve the tone of your body when diet and exercise simply aren’t enough. Your makeover can slim a stretched stomach, restore volume and perkiness to the breasts and redefine your feminine curves.
Smoother Skin
After pregnancy, many women experience a loss of skin elasticity in the abdomen and breasts. Your mommy makeover procedure can treat stretch marks, sagging, wrinkles and other skin imperfections, giving you a smooth, youthful glow.
Increased Comfort
Increased fat or slackened muscles can make it more difficult to exercise and perform certain activities. By reducing fat cells and tightening your muscles, a mommy makeover can improve your physical comfort and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Better Confidence
The most important benefit of a mommy makeover is the dramatic shift in our patients’ self-confidence and body satisfaction. The procedure is custom-designed to target your areas of insecurity, helping you feel like the best version of yourself.

One Patient's Mommy Makeover Journey
Planning Your Mommy Makeover
All patients begin their treatment with a consultation appointment at our Little Rock, AR practice to discuss their cosmetic goals and plastic surgery options. At this time, Dr. Yee performs a full physical evaluation and helps you determine the best surgical and non-surgical procedures to reach your goals. There are a variety of different options you can include in your custom treatment plan, and the best ones for you will depend on your personal preferences and goals.

Breast Augmentation
A breast augmentation can add volume and shape to breasts that have become smaller or less firm following pregnancy. Breast augmentation involves placing saline or silicone implants to supplement the bust line and create more feminine curves. Your implant size is completely customized to your goals, helping you restore lost volume or giving you the fuller figure you have always desired.

Breast Lift
Many patients find that their breasts fail to return to their pre-pregnancy position due to lost skin elasticity. A breast lift will tighten excess skin and situate the breasts at a higher position. We often perform breast augmentation in conjunction with a lift to establish a perkier profile and a more youthful appearance.

Breast Reduction
In some cases, the breasts remain large even after you’ve finished breastfeeding. If so, Dr. Yee may recommend breast reduction to reduce excess tissue and improve comfort. Breast reduction can bring the bust down to a more manageable size and reduce back pain and other physical discomforts.

Liposuction
Liposuction eliminates stubborn fat deposits in various areas of the body that are resistant to changes, despite healthy diet and exercise habits. While we commonly perform liposuction on the abdomen in combination with a tummy tuck, your mommy makeover can also include lipo on the hips, thighs, buttocks, breasts or upper arms.

Tummy Tuck
The after-effects of pregnancy can leave you with excess skin or deposits of fat around the abdomen, making it hard to feel comfortable in bathing suits and clothes. A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, removes excess skin around the midsection, tightens the abdominal wall and slims the upper and lower regions of the stomach. This procedure can also correct separated abdominal muscles, known as diastasis recti, a common concern for many women after pregnancy.
Nonsurgical Treatment Options
There are many nonsurgical treatments that can complement your surgical mommy makeover results. Some of the most popular include CoolSculpting®, truSculpt® flex, EMSCULPT® NEO and microneedling for stretch marks.
CoolSculpting®
Fat Reduction
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure to eliminate stubborn fat deposits in targeted areas of the body. CoolSculpting uses an innovative process known as cryolipolysis, or the freezing of fat cells that are then flushed from the body. There is little to no downtime involved with CoolSculpting, allowing women to resume their “mommy” activities right after treatment.
TruSculpt® flex
Muscle Sculpting
truSculpt® flex strengthens and tones muscles and can be personalized to adjust to your fitness level, shape, and goals. It does not require any painful injections or surgery, making it a comfortable choice for many patients. Most of our Little Rock patients describe truSculpt flex treatment as highly tolerable, with only mild muscle contractions that feel similar to an intense workout.
EMSCULPT® NEO
Muscle Building & Sculpting
This nonsurgical treatment is an excellent option for women who want to tighten and tone their abdomen, buttocks, and other parts of the body without liposuction or other surgical procedures. The electromagnetic energy emitted by the EMSCULPT NEO device causes thousands of muscle contractions in the targeted area, building muscle mass and burning fat.
Microneedling
Stretch Mark Removal
Pregnancy often results in stretch marks and uneven skin texture around the breasts and abdomen. Microneedling is a safe, non-invasive way to diminish post-pregnancy stretch marks and other skin irregularities. With 3 to 5 microneedling sessions, patients can rejuvenate their skin cells and see a noticeable reduction of fine lines and stretch marks.
ResurFx – The ResurFX is a gentle laser designed to treat sun spots, fine lines, texture, acne scars and stretch marks. The laser is customizable to treat specific concerns and needs of the individual patient. There is minimal recovery time, and the end result is brighter skin & improved tone and texture. The ResurFX also stimulates collagen to help the continuation of regenerated skin. You may experience mild swelling and redness, and may return to normal activities after the treatment.
The Mommy Makeover Procedure
Once you have selected the customized procedures that you would like to include in your mommy makeover, Dr. Yee will develop a personalized surgical plan designed to meet your unique needs and goals. Because every mommy makeover is different, each procedure experience can slightly vary. Generally speaking, however, a typical mommy makeover takes anywhere from 3 to 6 hours to complete, depending on the type and how many procedures are included.
Dr. Yee performs mommy makeovers at our fully-accredited, state-of-the-art surgical center under general anesthesia as outpatient procedures, so you can expect to go home the same day. You will need a responsible adult to drive you to and from your appointment and to stay with you for at least the first day after your procedure.
Recovery after a Mommy Makeover
Recovery after a mommy makeover looks a little different for everyone, since it really depends on the exact combination of procedures you have and your body’s natural healing process. In general, you can expect the first couple of weeks to be the most challenging, especially if your makeover includes a tummy tuck or breast augmentation. Most patients take about 2 weeks away from work and daily responsibilities so they can focus on rest and allow their bodies to heal without added stress.
You should gradually start to notice improvements in energy and comfort as you continue to heal, but it’s important to continue to take things slowly. You will need to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting, including lifting young children, until Dr. Yee gives you the go-ahead. Many women feel more like themselves in about 2 to 3 weeks after their mommy makeovers, though full recovery and final results can continue developing for several months.
Your Mommy Makeover Results
While you may notice changes in your body shape and contours soon after surgery, swelling and bruising will camouflage initial results, and continued results will develop gradually over the coming weeks and months. The most dramatic improvements typically become visible within a few months as bruising and swelling fade, with final results becoming visible within 6 months to a year.
Scars will gradually soften and lighten over the next 12 to 18 months, often becoming barely noticeable over time. Mommy makeover outcomes can be very long-lasting, although significant changes such as large weight fluctuations or a future pregnancy can undo those results. So it is important to keep up with healthy diet and exercise habits after your procedure to maintain your smooth, beautiful new contours and improved confidence.
Cosmetic Enhancement Is an Investment
It is important to view the costs associated with your mommy makeover as an investment in yourself and your happiness. The cost of your treatment with Dr. Yee includes comprehensive individualized care, the latest technology in the field and invaluable experience and surgical skill. In addition, our Little Rock, Arkansas practice offers cosmetic surgery financing for mommy makeover patients to reduce your initial out-of-pocket expenses and make treatment more affordable.
Cost of A Mommy Makeover
Mommy makeover cost can range from $16,900 to $30,000 or more. The wide range in cost is due to the unique customization that comes with each mommy makeover procedure. Many factors can affect the overall cost of your procedure and we provide custom price quotes as part of every mommy makeover consultation.
Types of Plastic Surgery
The type of plastic surgery and the total number of procedures you choose will have the greatest impact on cost. While a mommy makeover can be more affordable than undergoing each procedure separately, the more complex your treatment plan, the higher your final costs will be.
Anesthesia & Care
The type of anesthesia you need will affect your costs. Certain patients who are at higher risk for health complications may require the service of a specially trained anesthetist. Additionally, in-patient hospital care or private nursing assistance during your recovery will add to your treatment costs.
Experience & Quality
Typically, a more experienced surgeon comes at a higher rate but offers the highest standards of care and the best aesthetic results. It is important to invest in the comfort and assurance of a skilled surgical hand rather than experience the regret and pain of complications, poor results and revision surgery.
Mommy Makeover FAQ's
No, health insurance does not typically cover a mommy makeover, since it is considered to be a purely cosmetic procedure. If, however, part of your procedure was deemed medically necessary, some plans may provide partial coverage. For more information about your health plan coverage, call the number listed on the back of your insurance card.
There is no one correct answer, as surgical enhancement is a personal decision made by each patient. Some women plan their surgery soon after childbirth, while others wait years or even a decade. However, we recommend that patients wait until they have stopped having children, completed breastfeeding and are at a stable weight before undergoing treatment.
Dr. Yee recommends waiting at least 6 to 12 months after childbirth before getting a mommy makeover to allow your body enough time to heal. If you are breastfeeding, you should wait until you have finished to move forward with cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Yee recommends coming within 10 to 20 pounds of your target weight before getting a mommy makeover and having a BMI of 30 or under to ensure your safety and optimal results.
A mommy makeover usually combines 2 or 3 procedures, often a tummy tuck, breast surgery and liposuction, but the exact number depends on your health, goals and what Dr. Yee feels is safe to perform in one surgery. In some cases, Dr. Yee may recommend splitting a mommy makeover up into multiple surgeries.
While it is still possible to have more children after a mommy makeover, this is not recommended, as you may need a revision procedure in the future to restore your results following another pregnancy or breastfeeding. Dr. Yee recommends waiting until after you’ve completed your family to move forward with a mommy makeover.
You can expect some soreness and discomfort after a mommy makeover, especially in the first week or so, but these symptoms are usually well managed with prescribed medication and improves steadily as you heal.
Dr. Yee does everything possible to reduce scarring, but incisions are unavoidable in most surgical procedures. She can discuss with you different techniques during breast augmentation or abdominoplasty to disguise the location of incisions in less visible areas like under the crease of the breasts or below the bikini line.
Like any major surgery, a mommy makeover carries risks such as infection, bleeding, scarring or complications related to anesthesia, although Dr. Yee and her team take every precaution possible to minimize these risks and potential complications.
Mommy makeover results can be very long-lasting, especially when paired with healthy lifestyle habits. However, natural factors like aging, hormonal changes and weight fluctuations can affect your outcome over time.
