The Science Behind Glacial Rx

So how does Glacial Rx work?

The overproduction of melanin causes age spots, disrupting your smooth, even skin tone. Glacial Rx uses cooling technology to suspend the production of melanin. As new skin cells replace the older skin cells over the course of a few months, your complexion clears.

Glacial Rx slows the production of melanin, so your age spots will be slow to return. As you notice spots returning, you may request another Glacial Rx session at our Little Rock office.

What Happens During a Glacial Rx Session?

This procedure is completely tailored to address your specific cosmetic concerns. Before you begin treatment, Dr. Yee will develop a treatment plan for you and provide all the information you need to make an informed decision about the procedure. When you come into our Little Rock, AR, office for Glacial Rx, you can expect your treatment to involve:
Dr. Yee pairs her refined artistic sensibilities with years of medical training to provide life-changing results.

Relaxation

You will first lie back and get comfortable. Since this technology uses the cold to address skin concerns, you will require no anesthesia or numbing cream. Patients often report that it is a comfortable process that feels like a spa treatment.

Spot Treatment

Dr. Yee will move the Glacial Rx handpiece over the treatment area, paying special attention to age spots. She may apply the handpiece to each age spot for about 15-20 seconds.

Massage

After spot treatment, you may receive an exfoliating massage that uses cooling technology to reduce pigmentation. Serums may be applied to your skin to brighten it and accelerate cell turnover.

Continue Your Day

Treatment lasts a maximum of 45 minutes, and can leave our office and resume your day immediately afterward. You may experience some redness or microcrusting in the treatment areas for a few days after treatment.

Results

It can take up to three months before the full effects of treatment become apparent.
