The Rapid Recovery Method is a recently developed form of breast augmentation that gives patients the ability to return to normal activity within 24 hours of surgery.
Why It Works
During traditional breast augmentation, the muscle is divided and stretched to create a pocket for the implant. The condition of the breast muscle after this surgery is much like a leg muscle after a sports injury. When a muscle is injured, torn, or stretched during sports, the most common path to recovery is physical therapy. The Rapid Recovery Method consists of an advanced procedure technique, alternate pain management, and immediate physical therapy. At our Little Rock office, Dr. Yee has perfected this surgical technique that causes less trauma and inflammation to the breast muscle.
Reduced Need For Medications

How Long Do I Need to Sleep on My Back After Surgery?
Sleeping on your back is the best way to protect your implants while you heal and keep them in the best position as you sleep. It is recommended you sleep on your back for a minimum of 8-12 weeks following surgery.
How Painful Is Breast Augmentation Recovery?
It is normal to be fairly sore in the weeks following your surgery. The amount of pain you experience depends on many factors, including your pain tolerance. However, many women start to feel less pain within two to three weeks and almost no pain at one month.
Can I Get Cancer From Breast Augmentation Surgery?
Many patients are hesitant to get breast augmentation for fear of raising their risk of cancer. Breast implants do not cause breast cancer and do not raise your risk of developing breast cancer. However, textured implants have been linked to anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL). Dr. Yee does not and has never used textured implants.

Are There Any Side Effects?
Bruising and swelling are common side effects during the first two weeks following your surgery. A change in nipple sensation is also very common and should subside within a couple of months. Only in rare cases will the sensation be lost forever. After your breast implants have been placed, your surrounding tissue needs to settle. During this time, you may not like the shape and they may feel too tight. As your tissue begins to relax, your implants will fall into place and look very natural.
Are There Any Risks to Surgery?
While rare, every surgical procedure comes with a chance of complications. Implant rippling and implant rupture are two complications that can occur after breast augmentation. Both need to be surgically corrected. The improper healing of your capsule, the scar tissue that forms around the foreign object, can put pressure on your implant and make it appear distorted or hard to the touch. This is called capsular contracture and requires surgery to correct.
