EMSCULPT Results By Dr. Suzanne Yee on May 14, 2019

Woman with slim figureThe buttocks and abdomen are common problem areas for many people. These parts of the body tend to hold on to unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise, making it difficult to achieve the tight, toned figure that most people desire. While there are numerous body contouring treatments to enhance these features, many patients want to try a non-invasive option.

EMSCULPT® is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that is specifically designed to target the stomach or buttocks. Through a series of quick, painless procedures, patients can eliminate fat and strengthen the muscles in these areas to improve body contours. Here, plastic surgeon Suzanne Yee provides our Little Rock, AR patients with an overview of typical EMSCULPT results, and how long they can be expected to last.

How Does EMSCULPT Enhance the Body?

EMSCULPT uses HIFEM®, or high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology to induce supramaximal contractions in the abdomen or buttocks. These contractions build muscle mass while destroying unwanted fat cells.

Although EMSCULPT is not meant as a weight loss solution, our Little Rock patients can expect to see significant improvements in the treatment area. With decreased fat and increased muscle tone, features should appear slimmer and more toned, helping to define the figure while enhancing overall body contours.

When Are EMSCULPT Results Noticeable?

One of the numerous benefits of EMSCULPT treatment is how quickly it provides results. Many patients report seeing improvements at the treatment site nearly immediately following an EMSCULPT treatment session. However, it takes a series of at least four treatment sessions (which are each scheduled a few days apart) for optimal results to be achieved.

It is within two to four weeks of completing the final treatment session that patients can really expect to see the full extent of results.

How Long Will Results Last?

EMSCULPT enhances the figure by destroying fat cells and building new muscle tissues. However, new fat cells can always develop, and muscles will weaken over time if they are not used, so patients need to do their part to maintain EMSCULPT results.

We encourage our Little Rock patients to practice habits that will not only support results that have been achieved through EMSCULPT treatment, but also further enhance the figure. Suggested maintenance routines include:

  • Eating a well-balanced diet that is high in nutrients
  • Practicing an active lifestyle that includes regular exercise
  • Scheduling periodic EMSCULPT treatment sessions

These types of habits help patients maintain EMSCULPT results, while also promoting overall health and well-being, so they are highly beneficial to our patients.
